Its bright, bold and beautiful. Its a colour which will grab attention whether its your lipstick, dress, bag or nail polish. Orange reminds me more of the 80′s where a bust of colour was adorned by fashionistas and everybody else. Orange is this year’s colour trend, from the runway to accessories to the red carpet. Who wouldn’t want to wear what is on trend! Orange is a warm colour, psychologists say it sparks off energy and warmth. You feel so much better when you a wear it or have it as a colour in your house, your guests feel warm and welcomed.  Orange comes in many shades such as :tangerine tango, burnt orange, marigold, peach,carrot amongst others. However you should be careful not to throw in things in the mix thinking it matches. Pair the colour orange, when you want to aim at certain styles and you don’t want your look to compete or become too overpowering.

Orange with black, gives a subtle and sophisticated look as black is a neutral colour and you will have a bold look. Orange is a also paired up with ocean green to give a more topical look ,imagine having orange lipstick and a green dress? When you want to have a more 60′s psychedelic look, pair it up with either red ,yellow or pink though have orange as the dominating colour and a dash of either yellow,red or pink. In the picture above of the model, the orange shirt dress is paired up with a pink fabric belt. Orange also goes well with baby blue or sky blue as people would call it, giving it a stimulating yet calm look.I believe colour blocking is still in style, orange and purple is good way to attain the look.

When you have orange as a dominating look, your make-up should be subtle. Use nude make-up pallets so that you don’t look like a horror show. Have minimal accessories or none at all because the colour stands out on its own. This is when you are wearing a dress or gown. When you want to go all earthy add a touch of browns.

Orange is mentally stimulating as well as sociable. Use it to get people thinking or to get them talking.With that ladies go conquer the streets, turn heads at events and be the most talked after stylish person in the room. Thakoon took a bite out of Masaai plaid (see below) for their F/W ’11 collection and Louis Vuitton followed suit for their Resort 2012 menswear collection. Fashion continues its obsession with Kenya – from kanga print, to vibrant beads, and now the Masaai’s statement plaid print, and this is by no means Louis Vuitton’s first – or last – foray into Africa. The New York Times reported on Wednesday that Kim Jones, Style Director at Louis Vuitton Menswear, cites Africa as a strong influence having spent part of his childhood there, so the Masaai reference shouldn’t come as much of a surprise.
